I have used it for a while now, and it works wonders. It's one of the best anti-virus programs you can use to protect your laptop, and it comes with extras and a reasonable price.

I wait till my subscription has ended and restart the subscription probably a day or so later. That gives me much better options to buy this virus software cheaper online, than carrying my subscription straight on with Bitdefender.

BitDefender advertise the BitDefender Total Security initially on one page of Amazon.On opening this page you find you have an option to purchase either via email or through the post.The latter was then dearer and being concious of environmental issues plus getting the serial number immediately I ordered the email version by mistake. Dont do this as you are asked for personal information to set up Auto Renew(which would be at a highly inflated price of 85Euro unless it was cancelled!!)You are not able to use this particular version of the software without providing this information!!!!After talking to Amazon and requests for Bitdefender to make contact with me, which was not forthcoming, I have no option but to provide my personal information to use this particular software, before being able to turn off the Auto Renew. Note!!!! I acknowledge it does inform you that the emailed software is an Auto Renew version.I feel that two different versions of a software should not be advertised on the same page. BitDefender do not say if this version can be added to extend my current subscription on to my existing BitDefender using this new software and Amazon were unable to help!Having used BitDefenders software for a number of years and reading other peoples reviews I will look at alternative software in the future!!!!

Worked, but will be a bit of a hassle for most to deal with, be warned!Once you purchase this, you'll get an email with a license key for the software activation.As of today 09/02/2025, to activate your license you need to login to your BitDefender account and apply it.When you have applied the license, it will lock you into an unavoidable window requiring you to save your credit card details to enable automatic renewal. There is no discernible way to bypass this, no 'close' button or anything. (I would consider this a dark pattern in user experience design, pretty scummy of you BitDefender...)It did it, though it progressed onto the bank account checking third party service, which I simply clicked 'Cancel'.Once that is closed, it brings you back to your BitDefender account showing your license is activated.I made sure to check that my auto renewal was indeed cancelled by checking the BitDefender support page under the 'Bitdefender Subscription Auto-Renewal: Configure your preferences' which you can Google search to bring up. It will show you two options on how to check and cancel your subscription, option 1 did it for me. While on that Verifone website, I made sure there wasn't any saved payment details too.So overall, just ensure you're fully aware of what you're buying into. I'm sure it's BitDefender's modus operandi to get you hooked into a cheap first year then rip you off in the consecutive years once you have forgotten about the renewal.Use your head, don't be suckered.

No problems with loading and using, and a big saving on expensive 'auto renew' Bitdefender prices

Only ever use BD. Doesn't show devices down when scanning.

Been using this for years. Cheaper to buy it here than renew online direct with the Company.

Your choice of course, this is just one persons review against many others but my view is they have terrible business practices now, you are now forced to enter your bank card details to activate prepaid codes which you only had to enter the code previously for them to work for years. I suspect what they will do is reel people in with cheaper deals like this and stop the prepaid codes then force them to pay the full amount direct with a difficult opt out process. In this day and age of digital identify theft its just another place for your details to get stolen. After years with bitdefender I i'm leaving them. Having uninstalled the software yesterday and switched to a competitor my PC has massively sped up and resource usage is a lot lower. Sadly lost my money here as its digital software you lose your right to a refund.
