OtterBox iPhone 16 Pro Max Defender Series Case - Black

Fantastic protection for drops, and the cell phone can be charged through the case. I paired this with a screen saver protective film and three caps for the camera lenses. The only point of weakness on this item is the cut-out for the camera control; there is a raised bevel along one of the longer sides as well as two of the shorter sides--but this done leave one long edge of the camera control exposed. I was aware of the camera control cut-out on the case before purchasing it, and the only other options I found seemed to obscure the camera control from relatively simple access. (I think this is just one of the risk : reward ratios everyone has to decide for themselves.) I feel comfortable using my cell with this case on because I know it will likely be safe even if it slips out of my hand.

I have always used OtterBox defenders on my iPhones! They are incredibly durable and well made. It isn’t too bulky, and provides great grip. I genuinely believe that they are well worth the price! The design is sleek and slim with wonderful grip. I love that they integrated the capability to use mag-safe in this case, as all the previous defenders I have purchased did not offer that capability! So happy that they worked that into this line of defender cases, I find these to be the most durable of all the otterbox cases they offer.

So far, so good. The "silence" button protrudes, unlike the OtterBox Defender for my iPhone 12: requires acclimation. Actually, each button seems a bit bulkier - activates EMERGENCY CALL option each time slipped into tripod. But my phone NEEDS this extra protection (fumble-drop syndrome), so am pleased. OtterBox is a quality, reliable brand.

So the only reason this isn’t getting 5 stars, is because I previously had an otterbox 3 piece case for an IPhone X, and it was exemplary. This one does everything just as well, but it’s not as thick, which could be good or bad depending on what your after.I always try to buy quality when it comes to cases, and otterbox is my #1, I will definitely pay a bit more for a guarantee I have great protection in my phone. Far more worth it than a run of the mill silicon slip on case.That being said, I feel like the silicon shock layer could be thicker. It used to be thicker. And I feel like some of the shock absorption is lost, but it’s identical otherwise.The design is nice, and the notch out over the camera button is weird at first, but you kinda need it since the camera button is flush.I’ll have to report back for durability, but if this is anything like their other products, it’s going to be quality. I loved my other otterbox products, and this has given me no hard evidence that it performs worse, I just feel like the shock layer was unnecessarily downsized.I haven’t dropped my phone yet, and I try not to, but if I did, the corners have some considerable reinforcement in the shock layer, more than the old model, so I guess they repurposed the material into critical areas where failure would most likely occur, to save weight, while maintaining safety. The shock layer has raised edges that go past the camera’s, and the top and bottom are both beveled so they are raised above the screen.I still liked the thick shock layer on the older models, but nonetheless, I’m quite satisfied with the skeleton case and the shock layer case.

I purchased this case for my dad's iPhone 16 pro max because he always like OtterBox's rugged, textured protection, its strong grip, and its simplicity. This case is very protective! I has a rugged design that ensures his iPhone 16 pro max is protected. It has good grip and will last a long time. I highly recommend this case.

OtterBox is always consistent. This was exactly what I was expecting and the quality was perfect as usual. You get what you pay for and OtterBox is worth it.
