Great performance and a snap to set up

I purchased these powerline adapters after our development ditched DSL for AT&T Fiber. Now that I had 1 GB of speed, I wanted to improve the throughput of the older TP-Link powerline adapters I'd been using for over 12 years! They worked pretty well, but tose were limited to 200 Mbps (TP-Link AV200) and sometimes had to be reset to regain connectivity. The AV2000 is a major upgrade. They have a maximum speed of 2 Gbps, MIMO, an additional Ethernet port on the bottom of the unit and a passthrough AC in the unit itself. They have never disconnected from each other and provide a fast, stable way to distribute a signal to an area that can't receive wireless or that would benefit from the higher bandwidth of aa wired connection. As an example, I use them to connect a TV to an Apple TV 4K on our patio where wireless isn't strong enough for a reliable connection. The difference in performance over the AV200 is night and day. These are a major upgrade from what I was using, but then again, the ones I had were purchased in 2013. If I have a criticism, it's that they are twice as large as the AV200's I was using. If you plug a device into the AC passthrough, it becomes pretty bulky. It makes hiding the device a bit more challenging and requires at least a few inches of depth to hide it behind a piece of furniture. In exchange for the drawback, the performace of the AV2000 is sensational and makes extending your network a very simple chore!

It works, even in an old house like mine

To be frank, i was literally 90% sure I was going to return this. I live in an old home with extremely old wiring+everything. I cannot crawl under my house to connect via ethernet since I am too big now. My router is in my living room, and my room is the opposite side of the house. There are several walls in between and I was desperate for a faster connection.I was completely shocked how fast this connected and worked. Also very easy to install+pair. This was a life saver for me and I really wish I discovered this several years ago. This works great!

Easy to set up, but...

Mostly based on first impressions, I like this unit. Time will tell as to how well it performs, but in watching a few videos via Fire TV, it seems to work well.Pros:- Pairing of the two units was automatic. I suspect you probably need to use the Pair button mostly if you add a third unit.- Once I got the network setup working (see Cons), no hiccups or drama - it just works.- Unit connected fine on either breaker box in a two-box household. YMMV.Cons:- Instructions are too simplistic - it can be that simple, but...- If you connect this to a switch/router on one end - DO NOT CONNECT BOTH PORTS on that end - it won't work if you do (MAC flapping).- Thus, I'm a bit skeptical of the 2Gb/s stated throughput.- The adapter partially covers the second outlet in a top-bottom 2-outlet pair.I think the best way to think about each adapter is that it has a small 2-port switch in it. So, unless you plug both ports into separate VLANs on either end, if you have a switch/router on either side of the adapter, you can't use both ports. I think the ideal scenario is two separate devices on the remote end, and a single port on a switch/router on the wired end.In that scenario, which is the only way I was able to get it to work properly, your aggregate bandwidth could theoretically reach 2Gb/s over a full-duplex connection, but in practice, for typical use of this device (think: a smart TV + STB, mostly "download"), your aggregate bandwidth can't exceed 1Gb/s (single-port on the switch side). That should be plenty, but only in specific scenarios could you ever reach 2Gb/s. Maybe nit-picking, but the complete lack of useful documentation and scenario descriptions with the devices makes the 2Gb/s claim misleading. Maybe they lay this out on the website - don't know, didn't check, but I shouldn't have to dig that deep to get it working. My only other gripe so far is a small one, and is one others have pointed out as well: the adapter is large, and the top makes it impossible to use a grounded plug in the other outlet of a standard 2-outlet wall receptacle. There is a simple solution: buy a cheap "shortie" grounded extension, and use that for the adapter (what I did on the "local" end), or only use a 2-prong plug in the other outlet (what I did on the "remote" end).

100% fixed my connection on PS5!

So let me start out by saying I have done about a month's worth of research on these and debated about getting them for about 6 months. I'm so glad I finally got it. It has became a night and day difference. I specifically got them to get a wired connection for my PlayStation 5 and wanted to see if it helped with anything versus using Wi-Fi. Let me tell you my speeds got boosted and I have a stable connection. Especially when playing call of duty. There is no more packet burst jittering or stuttering. I am on a second story with the router about three rooms down and had 100% Wi-Fi connection before using this, but it wasn't a stable connection with this device that changes everything. I couldn't imagine not using this. It's very nice too. It came with ethernet cables so you didn't have to buy any additional parts.
