I bought these for adding to my first aid kit on long hikes. On some occasions, stream beds are dried out and I need a way to recover electrolytes with a low water reserve. These tablets work much better than your standard electrolytes. I don't know how they work, but I can confirm they do. They can't replace water, but than can replace the minerals you lose through sweat, and they can help you to push a bit further until you find a water source. They are a great pick-me-up when you're dragging or bonking.I also experimented with using these as a sleep aid, and they actually work very well for that purpose. In fact, they work better than melatonin for me. I have a hard time sleeping due to pain in my sacrum and lower back. It's rare I can sleep for more than 2 hours without waking up. With two of these tablets, I sleep through the entire night. I've tried everything else (including OTC and prescription meds), and nothing but these tablets work. Again, I don't know how looking at the ingredients, but it's not a placebo effect as I've tested on several nights and the results are consistent.No product is perfect however. As much as I love these tablets, I think they are a bit overpriced. The cost is almost $2 per tablet. Maybe that's a small price to pay if you are in chronic pain and need a natural solution to sleep better, and it's fine for an emergency first aid kit, but it's a bit prohibitive as a general electrolyte replacement. I also think the packaging could be a little smaller. The tablets are held in an unusually large pouch with lots of dead space.All that said, I will continue to purchase these for the purposes I have described. Not being a big drinker, I can't comment on their use as a recovery aid, but since electrolytes in general are a great hangover cure, I'm certain these would work at least as well.

Ordered these recovery supplements for a trip to Denver to help alleviate any issues with altitude sickness. I typically do not hydrate well so wanted something to help. I chose these supplements as they had no sugar or other 'bad' ingredients. Plus they contain blends of herbs and antioxidants that I did not see in other similar altitude sickness tablets (which all seemed to contained the same vitamins which I already take on a daily basis).I can attest that I did not have any altitude sickness issues on our 5 day trip! I took 2 each morning, and I think it even helped with no hangovers as I felt great all 5 days! The tablets taste great and are easily chewable. I will be buying more to take specifically to help on low hydration days and as a hangover helper :-)

Zaca is fantastic! A friend introduced me to it 6 months ago and now I don't go anywhere with out it. I keep it in my bag at all times and send it off to college with my kids. Wonderful, quick results for hydration, muscle cramps or work out recovery, even indigestion! Tastes great and all natural. Love this stuff!

Tried these for the first time after night of drinking tequila. Happy to report it worked pretty well. I’m sure I’ll have a lot more “testing” will update periodically.

My SO has an issue with altitude and generally gets horrible headaches whenever we travel above 6000 feet. This past summer we planned a three day trip at 7200+ and I purchased these tablets in hopes that they would help with the altitude. He took them every morning when we were above 7000 feet and had no headaches on this trip. Additionally, he was able to do all the hikes we had planned so I am glad we made the purchase. I am not 100% convinced these tablets were the reason for the success, but they certainly didn't hurt. Definitely going to try them again for our next venture above 6000 feet.We did try them one night after a dinner laced with way too much wine. I can say in that case I didn't find them useful in preventing the next day nausea and headaches that tend to follow after over indulging. The packaging indicates you should take them before you embark on your bad decisions and we didn't follow that advice, but rather took them after the consumption. Maybe it would have worked had we followed the suggested guideline.

Highly recommend for travel! Overnight flights, hours long car rides and no hint of jet lag or motion sickness (which can happen when I’m sitting in the back). Easy to pack, and eat on the go without needing to dissolve in water. Will continue to purchase for travel and just anytime I need a pick me up! Excellent taste also, no strange salty taste like with other dissolvable powders.
