Simple, solid little house
This kit makes a very cute little two room house. It is easy to assemble, though be aware that to get the shingled look in the photograph, you do need to purchase separate bags of shingles. I will be making clay tile out of terra cotta colored air dry clay. With a little extra planning and a few extra tools, you can make this into a much nicer house -- sand the pieces with more than just the one small piece of paper included, use some wood filler if you aren't adding siding, assemble and paint the walls and floors before adding the (also already painted) window pieces. Apply wallpaper before adding interior window frames. Add hinges to the little cupboard under the window seat, glue beads to the front of the doors so you can pull them open. Sand and coat everything, so nothing gives splinters. If you paint, use gesso and sand that too.The kit is easy enough that older children could build or help build it, and has plenty of room for creativity. As there are no internal walls and lots of windows, there are no good places for tall furniture or wall art. Your dolls will have to make do with tables, narrow book cases, and low beds under the eaves.

Like everyone else says
Like everyone else says, be prepared to sand like crazy and it will take many hours to put this together. You will want wood putty for the seams. It does not come with shingles. I painted mine differently, and added an interior wall with cardboard, plus added extra moulding, and made a "Halloween witch house." Now that it's done, it's fairly sturdy and I like it a lot, but you get what you pay for, just be aware. Follow the directions carefully and go to the Greenleaf dollhouse club page for clarification if needed.

Cutest little dollhouse
The media could not be loaded. This little cottage has been a fun little kitbashing project to work on. I installed an aftermarket front door. I also deleted a few windows around the front entry as well as the arches over the side windows. I didn't install the window bench to add more display room for a shelf. I also cut the edges off the roof and didn't use any gingerbread trim. I am planning on using clear plastic on the windows instead of the printed windows it comes with.It was fairly easy for me ( artist and crafter) to put together following along with the instructions.

Splintered wood in my fingers
As I have built doll houses before I needed something small as I downsized to an apt.. I guess you get what you pay for as this is the worse product I have purchased in a long time. The wood is cheap , splinters and cannot be sanded to a nice finish. The directions were very hard to follow with no pictures to follow. I found gluing with a hot glue gun very hard. Too bad I spent more money on paint and wallpaper. I became so frustrated it ended up in the garbage. Wished I could have gotten a refund. Will upgrade next time and find a better brand. SOOOOOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED.

Gingerbread Bakery
What a fun project. I highly recommend this kit only if you are willing to put in the time. Lots of sanding on each each part.Directions are not real detailed but easy enough to figure out. It is a inexpensive kit that can be customized any way you want. It takes alot of sanding and some wood putty to fill in the holes. I did my wallpaper before i assembled. Also alots of finishing touches. Used base bord moulding and hardwood flooring and added some fairy lights. Great project had a blast doing it. Already ordered the cottage to make a toy store can't wait to get started

As described, good value
This was really fun to put together, but you will need paint, furniture and accessories.

A good first dollhouse kit
Buttercup was easy to put together, and I would recommend it to parents who want to spend time with their kids doing a wood project that is pretty easy. A hot glue gun made it easy (for the parent to use). The only caution I would give is that the top wood pieces in the box were very brittle, and I ended up snapping off a tiny piece here and there even though I was careful. The pieces on the bottom were very sturdy, and I didn't have to be so ginger with those.I enjoyed putting the cottage together and look forward to kids I babysit (and maybe grandkids enjoying it for years to come).
