A great purchase
So glad I bought this holder for my Garmin. The old sandbag ones were crap. This one works beautifully. Stays in place and mounted easily. Not sure what will happen if I want to remove it one day, but I’m not going to worry about that now. I’m sure it will be okay.

Amazingly stable
I've been quite happy with this, to the point that I purchased a 2nd one so I don't have to move it between vehicles. The suction cup sticks quite well, and I'm amazed at just how stable the GPS is at full extension.

Doesn't work on pebbled dashboard; large suction cup
Great suction cup and sturdy arm. Unfortunately it didn't work in a 2009 Volvo V50. The suction cup didn't stick to pebbled dashboard material. And the large suction cup was too large to fit elsewhere on dash. I didn't want it attached to the windshield. If the V50 had a flat cutout in the dash it would have been perfect! : (

Now this is what I needed
Had ordered a replacement mount for my Garmin Nuvi as the old charger clamp had broken recently. I found the the suction cup mount was too short.This lead me to ordering a New mount and I found this one. Ordered it and it came in quickly. This suction cup fits the bill as it allows me to adjust it so there is plenty of clearance under the screen and lets me adjust the screen so there's no glare off it when driving.

Here's the problem....
The media could not be loaded. This unit is very secure and worked well. The issue is the material the suction cup is made from. After a year and a half, I had to remove it from the windshield, and the suction cup had turned into a very sticky glob. I can't use this any more.
