Nice
a handy tool used to measure the refractive index of liquids, helping determine their concentration or purity. Commonly used in industries like food, beverage, and medicine, it is essential for tasks such as checking sugar levels in fruit juice, measuring salinity in water, or testing coolant concentration in automotive fluids. Compact and easy to use, a refractometer provides quick and accurate results with just a few drops of liquid. Whether for scientific, industrial, or personal applications, it is a reliable tool for precise measurements.

Decent refractometer for the price!
This refractometer is so easy to use. A few drops of whatever solution you’re measuring is all that’s needed. The results are shown quickly, which is nice. Compared to my other more expensive refractometer and digital hydrometer, this meter is just as accurate. Glad I bought it!

Decent Entry-Level Refractometer
I found that this refractometer worked as advertised with the exception of the “waterproof” claim. The battery cover does not have any gaskets that would prevent water entry, and if you were to set this device in a puddle of water, capillary action would very likely draw the water inside the compartment. The same would be true if you splashed water on the back of the unit. With that said, the device appears to be made very well, and I found it to be accurate and repeatable. The calibration worked as indicated in the instructions, I had no problem with the device holding its calibration. The manual contains enough information to get you started. The plastic case holds the refractometer and all of its accessories. I found no issues at all with how this device functions in real world conditions.

I love that tester for the accuracy
The media could not be loaded. I am nutrition expert and I have been dreaming about this device. Now I can test all the juices, fruits, even ketchup for sugar. This is a very cool device. I tried it first day I have got it. I love that it has batteries included which is very thoughtful from seller.Size is small, so you can keep anywhere in your kitchen and even take it with you out if you need it for a trip.Very easy to use.

Great for testing honey
Easy to use, with a clear read out. I like this digital display much better than my old refractometer. The instructions are very straightforward. This beekeeper is looking forward to honey session with my new gadget, as I've spent the last few weeks fiddling with it with honey from last year!!

Contradictory waterproof claims. Splash resistant at best. Otherwise, decent device.
I think it's a huge problem when the advertising claims something is waterproof, has the word "waterproof" molded the device's shell, but then it's manual tells you information that indicates for all intents and purposes, it is NOT waterproof. The instructions warn you to keep water away from the battery compartment and not to rinse the sensor under running water when cleaning it. It can also be easy to miss the part of the advertising that says "keep water away from the battery box". The battery compartment lacks any kind of rubber gasket, instead only having a plastic sheet which appears strictly as something to help keep you from losing the screws, so the manual's warning appears correct. If you want a Refractometer that is COMPLETELY waterproof with an actual IP rating, DO NOT BUY THIS. Maybe some parts of it are -technically- "waterproof", like the membrane buttons, though I would hardly call something waterproof if you have to tell your customers to keep it away from a sink faucet. If the specs otherwise look good to you and you can keep it dry, then the Goyojo refractometer is otherwise a decent device. I've been using it to test coffee from different preparations method. I'm still not sure how to interpret the information, though I'll list some of my test results at the end in case that can help you figure out if this can produce the information you need.As for some other details:It is easy to use. Just drop in some distilled water (which is VERY cheap, usually no more than 3 bucks a gallon) and hit the calibrate button. Then use the dropper to put 3-5 drops in and press the measure button. The instructions want you to wait until the fluids are close to the same temperature as the device before dropping them in, though the tiny samples cool fast enough that you can just place the drops into a spoon or something. After measuring you can hold the button to cycle through the data collected from the reading, without have to re-test the fluid. As for accuracy, most of the time measuring it over and over again gives the same brix rating, though occasionally I've tested coffee in it that would flip between 2 and 2.5. The brix rating only increases in .5 measurements on this device, so you wont see 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, etc. The Rl setting gives more accurate decimal numbers though. The advertised "Bright" display is also not backlit at all, or if it is, the instructions did not indicate how to turn the backlight on. The "HD" display is about as clear as your average big screen dollar store calculator, which is not really a problem, but it is not as clear as shown on the render in the advertising. The device shows has three "pages" of information that you can cycle through by holding down the measure button. Those are Temperature, Brix, and Rl. One of those settings is also shown in the tiny text at the top of the screen above the bigger text. I have trouble reading the tiny text sometimes, though if I need to see it, I can just cycle it to the larger screen.Build quality of the device seems decent, the outer shell generally feels solid. It has some creakyness if you push on the top half of the shell while holding it by the bottom. The membrane buttons have a nice tactile click, and feel like they are going to last. The sensor cover is the cheapest feeling thing on the device, and I do worry it could crack, but thats about it.The case it comes with does not strike me as being well made, but it will protect the product. It has a lot of excess plastic from the mold left on. I worry that the snap lock will eventually wear out, though the hinge is kind of a curved loop of thin plastic that appears resistant to tearing compared to flat folded hinges on other cheap cases. The two included microfiber cloths are nice, they seem to have glued edges to keep them from fraying, though I worry the edges are hard enough to scratch the sensor. The included droppers are about as sturdy as a plastic drinking straw though. You will probably want to think of them as starter droppers until you order a better set. You can't get inside them to dry and clean them out, as they are one-piece with a bubble you deform to push the air out, and let go of to suck fluids inside. Getting all the water out after using clean water is a pain, and likely to throw off test results if your not careful. I really wish they included a better dropper than these, though it's better than not getting any droppers with the device. The droppers did make it easy to get fluids into the sensor.Oddly, it seems to include a replacement plastic sheet to replace the one that holds the screws in. It also has 4 spare screws, which is nice because the plastic sheet does NOT seem to do a good job of retaining said screws (they are also tiny and easy to lose). A screwdriver is included to access the battery door, which takes 4 screws to open....Here are some testing results from the coffee (and a soda) I've tested in the device, please note I didn't always think to write down every detail of weight or water ratio:Third party Nespresso pod in Essenza C100 coffeemaker"Piu BelloEspresso Estremo"2.5 Brix1.3364 RlAeropress coffee using official metal filter5.5%Dr PepperCan 1-10% BrixCan 2-10.5 brix-1.3485 RI6 serving Big Moka pot25 grams coffee in, 310 water in, 229 coffee out54.7 grams water leftover in pot26 grams water lost in steam or absorbed in grinds3.5 Brix1.3380 RLSmall Moka Pot15 coffee, 140 grams waterLess than 110 grams coffee out5.0 - 5.5 Brix (Results were not the same every time I measured this one)5.5 Brix reading had RI of 1.34105.0 Brix reading had Rl of 1.3402Aeropress recommended recipe with metal filter:About 280 grams water at 170F, steep for 3 minutes1.5 Brix1.3350 RlEspresso style from "SOXQZJH" portable Coffee Maker15 grams coffee tamped down, 60 grams water in45 grams coffee liquid out7.5 brix1.3440 R1Aeropress Espresso style concentrate7.0 Brix1.3432 Rl15 grams medium fine coffee, 60 grams water in the brewing chamber200F WaterPour over15 grams coffee, 280 grams water1.5 Brix1.3350 R1

Seems to work well
I picked this up to test the mead from the kit I got for my wedding and it seems to work well. I can't 100% confirm it's accuracy since I am still new to this, however I have no reason to doubt it.
