This carbon fiber tripod camera arm is built like a friggin tank!Don't be fooled by the "carbon fiber" moniker. This thing is not very light at all.But thats OK!because it feels like it will last a lifetime. Which i much prefer over cheap gear that breaks in a year.Everything feels rock solid. The carbon fiber tubes are some of the biggest and stongest i've ever used. The mounting hardware is all metal. Even the magic arm that is included as a bonus is metal.The only thing i can complain about at all, is the included phone holder mount. It is the only thing made of plastic and it feels very cheap. Luckily i never planned on using it but if you really need it you may want to buy a different one just in case the included one breaks on set.Otherwise its fantastic.I really love the main axis mount it comes with. It's all metal and it feels very smooth to operate. I can get pretty nice mini crane shots with it with relative ease. Great for product videography.

This is a fantastic addition to my tripod; it’s very lightweight, very well-built and gives me more flexibility in shot composition for still objects. It has a really nice premium feel to it, the knobs and ring locks are all high quality and smooth with solid lockup and I think it’s pretty nice looking too. The phone mount it came with isn’t as nice as the extension itself but it still works well and will fit just about any phone. Aside from how well it works, it comes with a nice carrying bag that has some padding to it and clearly wasn’t an afterthought just tossed in. I really wouldn’t change anything about this, it’s excellent all around and works very well.

The arm itself is well built and designed.Unfortunately when I received it, it was missing the ball head arm, cell phone holder and the screw in counter weight attachment point.

First off the carbon is so thin that they put a carbon pattern over it to give it the look. It feels very thin and somewhat plasticy. With your hands you can feel the tube flexing just giving it a squeeze. I am stuck with it being just now I had time to test it. Don't be me, gay something more durable.

There is a lot to like about the FreeSea boom arm. It comes in a handy zippered case. It is built solid; the adjustment screws are metal and inspire confidence. It is easy to make critical adjustments, and they stick. There is a spongy grip which I suspect will wear off eventually. The magic arm is a well-built accessory. The phone holder is a common spring model; there are better substitutes. There is an eyehole that, when attached, holds a counterweight. (see photo). When the eyehole is attached, the unit will not fit in the case.It holds a heavy DSLR camera easily. My main use of this boom is for holding a camera or light directly overhead, and this arm serves that purpose admirably.

This kit comes with the arm, magic mount, phone holder, counter weight screw and a carrying case. It is very well made and the carbon fiber seems to be of good quality. I was hoping for the rod to slide back and forth but it’s bolted in place. The extensions come from the either side and only the front portion is extendable for the camera, the back side is more for the counterweight or ease of adjustment for the user. Compared to the aluminum version I have, this one feels sturdier and heavier. Based on my testing, it seems to hold greater weight and doesn’t flex as much. You will need a tripod head if you plan on mounting a camera to it and it’ll make product shooting so much easier and you’re able to adjust camera angles in all sorts of ways. It’s just a bummer that the whole rod doesn’t slide back and forth. Overall, great product!

The arm is very strong as expected but the base is not solid on the tripod legs. There is a bit of wiggle and I noticed that the base does not sit flush with the legs. Not really a deal breaker as I can use this for table top filming foodie vids with my phone, but I don't feel quite comfortable yet about mounting my DSLR on it. Assembly is intuitive so you may not need the instructions, but keep it and read it. All in all, I have some use for this with my phone. With my camera, I will see how that goes.
