Best NiMh batteries I've ever found

I've been using these Powerex brand batteries for about five years now, along with their charger. Excellent, high power system! Fast charging procedures that keep batteries synced, and healthy, for reliable service in my Canon camera. It is picky about quality current, and these work every time. I get thousands of pictures from the AA's, with moderate flash use. Absolutely stunning performance! I use the AAA's in a portable music player that has high drain. These last longer than 3 new sets of 4 Duracells! I threw my Eneloops in the trash. Powerex has much more UMMPH!

Pretty Good LSD High Capacity AAA NiMh Batteries

I like these batteries a lot, and it may sound a bit odd, but I prefer the AAA batteries by PowerEx then PowerEx's AA batteries. The reason is that I noticed, and even checked the capacity on both the AAA's and the AA's after they were sitting around for about 4 weeks, and I noticed that the AAA PowerEx batteries were more or less at the same capacity levels but that the AA batteries had dropped by about 10%.I used the LaCrosse C-1000 Smart Battery Chargers Charge/Test function for all of my tests. My good ole trusty LaCrosse 1000, as a much much better reviewer that I could ever be always says... Original quote attributed to our own master Engineer and Top 100 Reviewer, Mr NLee.Anyway I like these batteries so much because I use them mainly for my high intensity 200XL Lumen Maglite flashlight, my Maglite 50XL high intensity light, and my old and trusted LED lamplight with a headband that I use often for doing equipment and item repairs that are very tiny in nature. And since I use the mags for work oftenenough and they are high energy consumption products I noticed that the AAA 1000Mah batteries by PowerEx were seriously outlasting most of the rest of my collection of high capacity batteries.PowerEx Maha 950Mah are pretty good also, but nothing lasts as long in those flashlights then the PowerEx ones do. I seriously don't have to change them for a month to six weeks at a time. It something that I don't particularly notice while time is passing, I do have a life, really... But it is always a surprise to me when the LEDs start to fade out. And I realize that I haven't had to charge any AAA batteries that whole time.I have been using high capacity batteries like PowerEx, Maha, EneloopXX for a while now. Probably about 3 years or so. And I do realize that there are plenty of people who have used them much longer then I have. But I also use rechargeable batteries for all of my on-site power tools as in Dewalt Hammer Drills, Drivers, Regular 20 volt drills, etc.. And I also have a couple of pretty good solar powered systems I set up so over a bunch of years I have used a lot of different power level rechargable battery systems and I have a decent amount of my own experience using them.So I have developed a decent sense of which batteries are strong and are running and will keep running with a lot of power and which brands are going to fail prematurely. I can see how well (or how bad they are) just by using the device or tools where they are in and feeling out instantly how well the tool is working or how strong and how far the throw range of the light from those killer maglite high intensity flashlights are. :-). As examples. And I am very happy with the PowerEx's AAA 1000Mah batteries, I use them all the time and I certainly recommend them highly. If you buy these but haven't bought a smart charger to charge them with, I also would strongly recommend buying yourself a smart charger like the LaCrosse C1000 or the PowerEx Mh C9000 Wizard One. It will be well worth it for you.As to which of those two chargers I prefer... Well that's a whole other 2 reviews, right?!!

These are my favorite brand of re-chargeable batteries

These are my favorite brand of re-chargeable batteries. They're not as known as Eneloop, Energizer or Duracell but they pack a punch. You can tell that they're high capacity than cheaper brands based on their heavier weight and they consistently have performed well for me. I use mine for handheld label printers, remote controls and flashlights and charge them using an OPUS CT-B2000.

The batteries are very good, but rechargeable's seem to leave a bit to be desired. The Powerex charger works very well, and the batteries are great quality, but rechargable batteries don't charge to the voltage level of non-chargeable batteries so in many situations they show up as low voltage as soon as you plug them in. Also, after a charge they begin to lose voltage immediately so if you charge them an put them in the cabinet, by the time you need them they are only 75% charged. They seem to run out quickly.

Not quite 1000mAh.....

Still good batteries, but after using high end MAHA c9000 to break in all eight I bought, had ranges from 944-971, most around 540. I have never had a problem with Powerex batteries in the past and I'm sure these will be great, just thought they would all start around the 1020's to assure the 1000 rating. And who knows, maybe after a few more cycles they will rate a little higher. Not a complaint. Just noting.

First AAA rechargeable from a brand with an excellent reputation (used only AA before)

I bought a tiny little external flash (Sony HVL-F20AM) that called for AAA batteries. Since NiMH batteries generally perform best with this type of equipment I found these. They have the highest manufacturers' mAh rating I could find for this size battery. I've used Powerex AA cells in the past with much success and I highly recommend them as this brand has proven itself to be among the best out there.Since this is my first set of AAA rechargeables, I can't cite any prior experience with other brands for this size to give an informed basis of comparison. However I can say they seem to perform well for their intended purpose. As I do with all new rechargeables I set them up to "break in" mode on my Maha MH-C9000 charger analyzer (which I recommend) using the preferred settings for this type of battery. I was a little disappointed that none of them broke in at or above 1000mAh; it's been pretty cold around here lately and maybe this affects cell performance (cold December week around here). Here were the results for all 4 cells after break in cycle and fully charged for the first time:Cell 1 - 962 mAh, 1.42 voltsCell 2 - 959 mAh, 1.42 voltsCell 3 - 929 mAh, 1.41 volts (runt of the litter)Cell 4 - 962 mAh, 1.42 volts
