This booster does require power. It can be plugged into the wall, or into a USB port in the TV if you have one there.

Q: I get great reception on my tv (full bars), but running it through my channel master dvr, i can't get signal on some. will this help?

It may if it the reason that you are not receiving the channel is that it needs a small amount of amplification. Look at the signal meter on the dvr. If it shows a small amount of signal then amplification may help to give enough signal strength for the dvr tuner to lock on the channel.

Q: Can two antennas be boosted to one TV using a splitter?

I did this with a Splitter and it improved the reception because each Antenna was pointed in a different direction helping me get additional channels to one TV.

Yes... It is a powered amplifer. You can either plug it into a wall receptacle or a USB port. If your TV has a open USB port you can power it there.
