"VEGAS Pro 17 Edit – Professional video and audio editing

I have been using professional level video editing software since 2005. From 2005-2012 Adobe Premiere Pro was my choice. However after getting tired of software crashes during editing and rendering, I decided to give Sony Vegas Pro a try. Since then I haven't looked back. I realized a lot has changed over the years. But I have never had a single problem - never a single software crash with Vegas that made me consider going back to Premiere Pro. This year I upgraded from Vegas 12 Pro to Vegas 17 Edit. The interface is essentially the same - which I love. The performance is improved. Rendering times have sped up and rendering output options are plentiful. I bought my copy of the software here on Cyber Monday 2019. My copy was legit and the serial number activated.

If not for Youtube and the internet I would not have been able to figure out why this software would not work properly. The documentation is not up to snuff. It seems very over-priced and my experience getting everything to work was incredibly frustrating. After weeks of trial and error I figured it out, but it was like torture. It now works okay. Get the tial version and really put it through its' paces. You will need the whole time period to figure this software out. It has many bells and whistles you will never need. They need to focus on ease of use and forget the bells and whistles and improve their documentation.

There is a reason that Vegas is always coming out with new versions that seem back to back. One big one is glitches and crashes. I have had this program crash serval time since it was delivered and installed. The one good thing is that is auto saves your work so that you don't lose it. But thankfully it is easy to use and if you can get render to work properly the quality is good. Once you pass the learning curve with a few tutorials the rest is a cake walk to use. Good for beginners and professionals.

I had Magix Movie studio platinum 12 and it only crashed every so often. But Vegas Pro 17 crashes all the time. The user interface is far more complex and less intuitive. Basically, I threw away my money when I bought this. And tech support? What tech support! Maybe a few weeks later someone will respond with absolutely useless information. I think they just copy from a list of ways to respond with no actual knowledge of the system.Update: After using it a few more months, it now crashes about every other time using it. And every time it starts, it asks me if I want to upgrade. No matter how many times I say don't ask me again, it does. At least that's consistent with the poor coding and QA of the rest of the product.

This program has so many new features that makes editing more complete. Totally professional and its really well built. Features like slow motion, planar motion tracking and smart split edit add so much quality to your videos. What I like most is that every tool is focused in resolution and every change, cut or edit will preserve the high-quality resolution of the video and the audio. Color and video distortion corrections and so many other tools make Vegas Pro the perfect choice for video production and makes it easier to work with big projects.

This program is extremely professional! Saying that... it took me a few days to work with the product as I am an amateur. There is a range of youtube videos to get you more acquainted with the program. After using amateur editing programs, this programming; although a little overwhelming, preforms high-quality edits. I look forward to trying more with it.

This was actually recommended to me but I didn’t think I would enjoy it this much. The interface is really user friendly. It is my new favorite program to use right now.
