I remember the large game when I was a kid. This is almost identical but just right sized for the hand. The game does not go forward if you win exactly, you don't do the 1st puzzle and add one more and more etc, you just get a new a new but longer game. It's fun to play alone but with this game there is a 2nd option called pass it, where you do your and then pass it to the next person and keep going.The only thing that kept it from a 5 star is there is no volume button. So if you are trying to play while everyone else is sleeping or you give it to entertain the kids in a car, it will get on your nerves quickly. A volume button would have made it the perfect toy and the added advantage that no one has really mentioned is that in addition to being a cute game and lots of entertaining, it does seem to help baby boomer adults keep their mental abilities sharp and people with beginning RA or just stiff joints the exercise that can be so helpful later on.I would recommend this to all age groups.

The build quality of the game is pretty decent and it's a good size, feels good when you're holding it. Unfortunately, the game suffers from a lack of 'classic mode' where it just keeps going with a sequence until you lose. Instead this game goes by 'levels' and each level has a different but short sequence. I haven't played every iteration of this game that has been released but I don't know why they just don't include an option to start at a level and the level would be a number of turns already created (i.e. level 1 starts with one color, level 2 starts with three, level 3 starts with five, level 4 starts with ten, etc. That would have made more sense.The only other thing I like about the device besides its small footprint and build is the 'combinations' where you push more than one color at the same time. I would have loved if this device had 'classic' mode and just introduced combinations. It obviously wouldn't have been difficult to do so. I mainly wanted this for my kid for her small hands and now I gotta find some other alternative.

FUN! Group pass the potato or single

My son asks for a game every year.. and I have got him "simon" on more than one occasion. As he has aged, he has not stopped enjoying this game. This version is slightly different than the simon I am used to. The sounds are slightly different. But the fun is not different at all. It still operates on the same .. other than there is a difference in how it notifies you that a new game is ready. This one seems to talk more than the old simon did. But it is an absolutely wonderful pocket game. I believe my son will be thrilled to see this in his stocking and to have another one to play with. Thank you for making it available to be part of his christmas this year.
