This thing is a beast
If you need tons of torque in a lightweight battery setup this is it. It chews through everything with no problem. The Flexvolt system is amazing.

It's a DeWalt
What else can you say this thing is a beast but it's DeWalt so that's what you expect The torque is twice of what my corded DeWalt drill was it took me a minute to get used to mix and mud if you don't watch what you're doing you'll throw it like a rookie all over the place and it'll rip your arm out, I'm 250 lb when I first got this drill I put a one and a quarter paddle bit in it went outside put it on a tree that was on the ground with all my weight on it pulled the trigger and could not stop this thing from spinning, The only thing I was disappointed in was my own fault I got at least 25 batteries so I got tool only, when it was delivered my heart sunk as soon as I seen it it takes the flex batteries, so $300 later my drill worked

Perfect for augers
As always well made dewalt tool . Had to buy for using augers. Any other tool would break your wrist with use. Plenty slow and high torque

As a Mixer…. Its great
No doubt this is a heavy duty tool. It feels solid and I would not classify it as light. There is definite power packed within this battery operated tool, moreso than most others I have encountered. We may be stretching it a bit with the ‘buckets mixed per charge’ claim, but not by a whole lot. I got 15/17 on a brand new fully charged battery. What did surprise me is its geared down pretty far. I guess I was under the impression it would be able to achieve higher rpm’s than it does, but its probably ok for what its supposed to achieve.Overall its an excellent, solid and powerful mixing device for thinsets and concrete.

Practical for electrical work. 4.75 stars out of 5
This machine makes drilling for pre wires a joy. Its additional power, weight and size and the long side handle gives more control when handling longer larger auger bits. The DCD996 (RIP) has/had enough power for those also, but I found it was harder to control due to its shorter scale and less rigid clamshell. The mixer/drill allows me to distance myself further away from the work piece, which means I have better balance; reaching into tighter spots with longer augers. I also picked up a DCD796 which is a surprisingly good drill. Fits the DCD996 side handle and goes where the mixer/drill can't. The DCD996 is a great all rounder if I could only choose one drill. The DCD130 is just in another class, for the price, it wasn't much more than my Hitachi corded drill, but a massive improvement in safety and convenience. Time will tell if it last as long.My drill may have been a returned item as the chuck holes were dented, probably from the chuck key. The mixer drill seems a bit slower in reverse than in forward, though I haven't notice a lag in power. If it helps, I'm not a big person, around 145lbs 5ft8" and found this drill to be quite comfortable to use with a 9.0ah battery.
